Job Description
To reduce the risk of the organisations’ products & services being used for money laundering & terrorist related activities. Provide assurance to relevant stakeholders that the bank is adhering to all relevant legislation & regulations therefore mitigating the potential for operational losses, fines, penalties or reputational damage to the organisation. To ensure timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders including regulators.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Commerce, Banking, Accounting or related field.
- 3–4 years’ relevant banking or financial crime compliance experience.
Key Job Functions
- Collaborate with the Financial Intelligence Authority as required to support investigations into large-scale or sensitive financial crimes.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to ensure the organization’s products and services comply with all applicable legislation and regulations.
- Define, maintain and enhance the AML framework by incorporating regulatory requirements, emerging risks, and audit and inspection outcomes, while overseeing the timely closure of remediation actions.
- Ensure all employees complete mandatory AML training and refresher courses within the prescribed timeframes.
- Deliver on all regulatory and internal reporting requirements by overseeing the production of high-quality reports, dashboards and management information for internal governance and regulators.
- Escalate high-risk customers, adverse information and complex or significant issues to management to prevent financial, regulatory or reputational harm.
- Provide expert AML-related advice and guidance to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Stay informed on money laundering and terrorist financing trends and typologies, translating insights into practical enhancements to the AML framework and staff awareness.
