Sparc Systems Limited is seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Technical Lead to oversee day-to-day running of the Innovation hub Technical functions supporting our innovation and entrepreneurship programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee MVP design, development, and product iteration for supported ventures.
  • Manage engineering resources and ensure efficient allocation across projects.
  • Ensure delivery timelines, product quality, and technical standards are met.
  • Work closely with the broader Sparc Engineering team to manage sandbox environments, hosting space, and other shared technical resources.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and hands-on support to start-ups and internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in software and/or hardware engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven experience in MVP development and product delivery for start-ups or early-stage ventures.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cloud platforms, hosting environments, and development tools accessible in Malawi.
  • Experience in training and mentoring junior or local developers

Required Competencies

  • Strong software and hardware engineering skills, adaptable to limited infrastructure environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project coordination skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
