KEY REQUIREMENTS
For Turner (Lathe Operator):
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
- Minimum of 3 years of lathe operation experience (preferred)
- Proficient in conventional lathes (C6140/C620); CNC experience is preferred
- Able to read mechanical drawings independently
- Responsible, hardworking, adaptable to hot and dusty environments
- Willing to work overtime and shifts
- Good health with no occupational contraindications
- Basic English communication is preferred
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
For Turner (Lathe Operator):
- Operate conventional lathes for machining and repair of mechanical parts
- Perform turning, boring, threading, and taper machining per drawings and tolerance specifications
- Use calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators properly; conduct self-inspection and maintain records
- Perform daily maintenance, cleaning, and fault reporting of lathe equipment
- Support the maintenance team during parts machining and equipment overhaul
- Comply with workshop safety rules and wear PPE correctly
