Background
Smile Life Insurance Company Limited is looking to recruit a result oriented and technically competent individual to fill the vacant position of Underwriting Clerk. The position is tenable in Blantyre. The successful candidate who will be accountable for quotations, scheme renewals, medical underwriting, reassurance, customer service, preparing various statistical reports and processing data; will report directly to the Operations Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing Quotations and renewals.
- Reviewing and organizing proposals forms, KYC documents and policy records.
- Preparing and dispatching client communications such as acceptance letters, premium reminders, and policy documents.
- Providing clerical support through report generation and general administrative tasks.
- Ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements, including confidentiality of client information.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date digital and physical records.

- Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Customer Service orientation
- Computer Literacy
- Teamwork and Collaboration
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Insurance, Business Administration or a related field.
- A Certificate in Insurance (e.g., from Chartered Insurance Institute or similar) is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of life insurance products or Group Life schemes will be a distinct advantage.
